Last year, Aveeno introduced the Aveeno Fresh Essential Line. The main ingredient found in the line is southernwood - a plant with antioxidant properties that claims to restore the skin’s moisture barrier for fresher and healthier-looking skin. The line includes a daily SPF 30 day cream, a night cream and a daily exfoliating scrub. Before we get into the details, and the giveaway, let's talk about my skin:

Facts about my skin:
Skin tone: Olive tone
Skin type: Oily and acne prone
Problems: Occasional breakouts on the chin and cheeks, acne scars, large pores in the t-zone, an oily t-zone, and the odd wrinkle

I'm drying to a crisp here in Calgary, Canada. Yes, it's summer here, but we don't have any sort of humid summers, we have hot (this year seems hotter than usual!) dry summers. So although I think my poor dry skin will get a break from the harsh winters - not the case here! So what's a girl to do? Welcome Jealous Grapeseed + Macadamia Coffee Scrub.

Facts about my skin in the summer:
Texture: Can get rough, especially my feet, elbows, and hands
Skin Type: dry - I need to moisture with no exceptions!

Marc Jacobs Beauty Genius Gel Supercharged Foundation - Review ($58 CDN)

Long-wearing foundation, is difficult to find with oily skin. And a some time ago, I was searching for a new foundation to try instead of my usual MAC's Studio Fix for those full coverage days. Welcome to Marc Jacob's Genius Gel - Supercharged Foundation in the color Golden Medium.

Marc Jacobs (or Marc, as I like to call him, you know like we're buddies) now has his own makeup line. Seems like many designers over the past few years have come out with their own make-up lines. I have some reservations of designers 'jumping ship' into the cosmetic industry - but I thought I would give this foundation a try as it was recommended as a great option from my local Sephora.

First, about my foundation needs:

Facts about my skin:
Skin tone: Olive tone
Skin type: Oily and acne prone
Problems: Occasional breakouts on the chin and cheeks, acne scars, large pores in the t-zone, an oily t-zone, and the odd wrinkle.

I don't know about you, but it seems like all adult skincare seems to be targeted towards anti aging. What about the women out there that are struggling with oily acne-prone skin, and also want anti-aging properties?

Welcome to Kellett Skincare - a Canadian dermatological grade skincare line with a specific adult-acne line. The line is Parabens, Synthetic Fragrances, Synthetic Dyes, Petrochemicals & Phthalates. Before we get into the details, first a little bit about my skin:

Facts about my skin:
Skin tone: Olive tone
Skin type: Oily and acne prone
Problems: Occasional breakouts on the chin and cheeks, acne scars, large pores in the t-zone, an oily t-zone, and the odd wrinkle. That's quite a long problem list!

Disclaimer: This trial kit was sent to me for review courtesy of The Skiny - Canada’s first and only lifestyle site focused on how to age amazingly. All opinions are my own. See my full disclaimer here.

AMOREPACIFIC Moisture Bound Spa Kit Review ($180 CDN)

8/3/2014

I know, I know. Who pays this astronomical price for skincare?! A girl's gotta treat herself once in a while - and this was one of those times. AMOREPACIFIC is a Korean cosmetic/skin care company that is relatively new to North America. After trying out a sample of the Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Creme from Sephora I decided to purchased my Moisture Bound Spa Kit. And of co!urse, since this kit included some minis (who doesn't love minis?!), I couldn't resist

About AMOREPACIFIC: The company harvests and handpicks its own green tea leaves, and are blended with their own blend of Asian botanicals fused with a patented formula.  Their ingredients are grown on an island off the coast of Korea. Pretty fancy stuff!

This particular kit was recommended to me by a sales associate at Sephora. AMOREPACIFIC offers a wide range of lines for more mature skin, and oilier skin.

The kit itself comes with the following:
- Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Creme, 1.7 oz (this is a full size)
- Treatment Enzyme Peel, 0.2 oz
- Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Eye Treatment Gel, 0.1 oz
- Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Serum, 0.3 oz
- Luminous Effect Brightening Masque, 1 sheet
