I don't know about you, but it seems like all adult skincare seems to be targeted towards anti aging. What about the women out there that are struggling with oily acne-prone skin, and also want anti-aging properties?

Welcome to Kellett Skincare - a Canadian dermatological grade skincare line with a specific adult-acne line. The line is Parabens, Synthetic Fragrances, Synthetic Dyes, Petrochemicals & Phthalates. Before we get into the details, first a little bit about my skin:

Facts about my skin:
Skin tone: Olive tone
Skin type: Oily and acne prone
Problems: Occasional breakouts on the chin and cheeks, acne scars, large pores in the t-zone, an oily t-zone, and the odd wrinkle. That's quite a long problem list!

Disclaimer: This trial kit was sent to me for review courtesy of The Skiny - Canada’s first and only lifestyle site focused on how to age amazingly. All opinions are my own. See my full disclaimer here.

The Product: Kellett Clear Skincare & Individual Results

PictureKellet Polishing Gel Cleanser
The trial kit contain the Polishing Gel Cleanser, Moisturizing Gel and Clarifying Acne Treatment.

Step 1: Kellett Polishing Gel Cleanser ($45 CDN for 130ml)

About the Product: This is a exfoliating cleanser, which claims to control breakouts, reduce inflammation. and help regulate sebum production.  To use this cleanser, I used about half a dime size or product, added water, and massage into the skin for 1-2 minutes.

Results: I was hesitant about a polishing cleanser. I find that even some of the dermatolical lines have polishing cleansers that are rough on the skin, and really cause me to break out with horrific cystic acne. This cleanser is a real winner, I have never used such smooth exfoliating cleanser - that is gentle on the skin but get the job done.. The really important key, I found, was to spend the full 1-2 minutes on your skin gently rubbing, It made such a different to spend the time. My skin feels so smooth after cleansing and it made a difference in my makeup application as you always start with a smooth canvas.

Overall Rating: 4.5/5

Step 2: Kellett Moisturizing Gel ($95 CDN for 50ml)

About the Product: This is a light oil free hydrating gel that keeps the skin moisturized while reducing blemishes, calm inflammation and fade pigmentation.  It also contains anti-aging peptides help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. For this moisturizer, I used about a pea size after using the cleanser.

Results: This is a great balanced moisturizer. It lightly moisturizes the skin, without leaving the skin greasy, or too dry. The moisturizer quickly absorbs into the skin, and really helps keep oil at bay. I also noticed an improved longevity of my foundation using this moisturizer, as I often find that after 4-6 hours it's oily city!

Over-all rating: 3/5

Step 3: Kellett Clear Clarifying Acne Treatment ($75 CDN for 50ml)

About this Product: This is a treatment cream that penetrates pores killing acne causing bacteria. It contains 5% Benzoyl Peroxide. A pea sized amount is to be applied twice daily to the problem areas

Results: I found this treatment very different than the typical 'acne creams' I have tried before. They are usually very harsh on the skin, often leaving me with dry patches. This treatment did not dry out my skin, and still worked on reducing existing blemishes, and keeping them at bay. I personally applied about half a pea size to my trouble areas around my chin and cheeks twice a day. It is recommended for those with fair skin you start with one application a day.

Over-all rating: 3/5

The Results

At the beginning of my trial of Kellett Skincare I was a skeptical that I would see an improvement on my skin. After trying it out for over a month now my skin feels a whole lot smoother, and less blemishes, and even the ones that do sometimes appear are smaller, and not painful as ones that usually appear with cystic acne. This skincare line is definitely worth a try for those suffering from adult acne.

The real winner for me was the cleanser. I'll definitely be ordering a full size immediately!

I'm actually about to start Accutane in a month and I'm super excited! I'm tired of trying new products and wasting my money.

I am using it now with another face wash and I combine them. I find it's really helped clear up my acne. Do you have similar skin?
