Spring is Here! Top 5 Spring 2014 Makeup Trends

Spring is finally here! Although it doesn't feel like it quite yet in Canada - we had a snow storm this weekend and it's sitting at about -15. This winter has been a dreadful one - and I figured it was time to forget all about those cold days - and start to get ready for spring!

Here are my top picks for Spring 2014 makeup trends - and my personal makeup picks to showcase these trends. What are you looking forward to this spring? Comment below!

1. HOT & Spicy Lips

No I'm not talking about those scary lip glosses that claim to plump your lips - and feel like you have cinnamon hearts smeared on your lips. I'm talking about orange lipstick! Orange lips are the HOT lip color for the season. I have chosen Revlon Colorbust Lip Butter in # 27 - Juicy Papaya (I was sold as soon as I read that name!)

2. Pastel Eye Shadows

I love a bold dark smoky eye just like the next girl - but for Spring 2014 - pastel shadows are all about adding a wash of color. I find that pink really compliments olive skin tone. This spring, I'll be using Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal in 55 Inked in Pink

3. Metallic Eyes

I love metallic - whether in wardrobe, shoes, accessories - which is why I am very excited about this trend! Metallic eyes - makes your eyes high-glamour. A metallic eye pencil would be the perfect day-time look. I'll be using the beautiful copper/brown with specks of gold: Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal liner in 003 Brown

4. Glowing Skin

We sometimes need that little extra help to look a little more 'alive' after being deprived of the sun all winter - and this trio will bring you back to life with all the essentials - blush, highlighter, and bronzer. To wear this trend, I'll be using the Urban Decay's Naked Flushed Palette.

5. Cat Eyes

Cat-eyes are still in this season. Appropriate for both day and night - just make sure for daytime you tone it down and just create a small flick at the end of your eye. For this look I'll be using my holy grail - Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink.
