The Product:
I had heard about the Sonia Kashuk palette late last year on "That is all" blog. Target only opened in Canada in 2013! So we have been living a Sonia Kashuk deprived world until just a few months ago! Is Target as great in Canada as in the US? Nope, it's getting better but I will save my rant for another post! So, what have we been missing in Canada? This was my first Sonia Kashuk purchase. I have to be honest, I wasn't very excited to purchase this - let's admit it the colors are a bit of a snore-fest and well... I love me some shimmer and this is a completely matte palette.

The set comes with 12 neutral shades - I was planning to do a swatch photo but with my olive skin tone you would only get to pick up about 6 of these shades on my hand. Is that a bad thing? Absolutely not, It all blended in to match my skin tone which I think is a good thing!

The packaging is pretty simple and basic. I think having a mirror would be make it more travel friendly, and I often catch myself pulling the palette up to my face only to realize I see no reflection!

The results
Well, see for yourself! I snuck in some shimmer, (or maybe I didn't clean my makeup brush thoroughly before I did this look - but I won't admit to that!)

I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the shadows - not chalky at all. Very fine milled powder and it makes blending effortless. Having a fluffy brush (I used MAC 217 blending brush) will really make the application seamless.

Is this the most exciting eye make-up you've ever seen? Absolutely not - but it's an easy, timeless every-day wear that I keep gravitating towards wearing to the office.

The colors and tones in this palette make it an essential to beginners and those with more experience. With this palette you can create a simple look or use the lovely shades for blending. If you're doing a more of a statement look you'll find beautiful transition colors to use - I guarantee it! And for the price? Well it can't be beat - I great value and a staple to everyone's make-up collection.
