Where to begin... I seem to read rave reviews about this mascara everwhere - there are ambassadors on YouTube, endless reviews in magazines, and blogs. I have been dying to try out this mascara, and I had the opportunity to pick up a sample from Sephora using my VIB points. Here is my tale of Too Faced's Better Than Sex Mascara. I have a few things to say about this little mascara, but first about my mascara needs:

Too FAced Better Than Sex Mascara ($30 CDN)
Can we first talk about it's racy little product name? I this this is a perfect example of how sex sells in all product categories. The actual description of this mascara claims it will leave you 'begging for more'. I hope someone out there is rolling their eyes along with me.
The wand itself is an hour-glass wand, a play on the 'sexy', and I assume helps to volume the lashes in the inner and outer corners. Now onto the promises, this mascara claims to:
- Improves volume close to 2000%
- Give you fuller, and longer lashes
- Curl your lashes

The Results
The packaging, of this mascara is sweet enough in the pink metal tube. I think the name, and the claims on this mascara are a little outrageous. Although I appreciate the 'bold' factor of the name, it certainly doesn't appeal to me - and the fact that they claim "3.4 out of 10 people claim that great lashes are better than sex". Who makes and takes these kinds of surveys?! Now enough rambling about the product name, now onto performance!
Formula: I like dryer mascara formulas but I found this formula thick, extremely dry and made it susceptible to clumping on the lashes.
Application: I had never tried an 'hour glass wand', and I think I will steer away from them. The thickness on the edges make it difficult to apply mascara to the tiny inner lashes, without clumping it on. I did like the dense wand, but with such a thick dry formula they two didn't work well together as it didn't allow for product movement on the lashes

Wear-ability: There are only two mascara deal breaker for me - smudging or flaking. And this bad boy flaked almost the moment I applied the mascara. I was walking out with raccoon eyes within a few hours. Click on the pictures above for a zoomed view.
Final Verdict: I consider this to be a high-end mascara at the price tag of $30 for a full-size. The whole premis of this being a 'better than sex , and the fact that this mascara flaked on my end left me with raccoon eyes - makes it very UNsexy! I usally love Too Faced products, so for me this was a huge disappointment from the marketing, all the way to the wearability. I'll be tossing this mascara.
