It happens to the best of us - what looks and sounds like a great product in store turns out to be a dud. These products may be holy grails for some ladies out there, but for me - quite the opposite. Here are a few of my recent duds. Let's get right into it:
1. Rimmel Lasting Colour Rush Intense Colour Balm - This was a recent purchase that I did a full review on. To sum it all up - after a few hours the stain left from the lip balm was drastically different than the original balm color. The result? Clown lips
2. Maybelline Line Stiletto Liquid Eyeliner - I purchased this eyeliner based on outstanding reviews across the board. I found this liner difficult to work with and the consistency too watery. I wouldn't recommend this eyeliner for anyone with hooded eyes - I ended up with raccoon eyes within a few hours.
3. Jane Iredale Balance Antioxidant Hydration Spray - This was my first Jane Iredale purchase - the spray is suppose to help control oil production and calm the skin - and it can be used on after or before applying makeup. Overall, I didn't find that this balance spray did anything for my makeup or my skin. In fact, I think it actually caused me to break out - automatic dud in my books!
4. Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Eyeliner - This is often raved about as a dupe for Bobbi Brown's gel liner. Although I found the liner to be very pigmented the actual formula did not work well for me - it actually irritated my eyes, and made them itchy. I take my eye area very seriously - anything my eyeballs don't like is getting tossed!
Have you tried any of these products? Did they work for you? What are some disappointing makeup products you have tried?
