Well the name of this mascara is enticing enough. Aren't we all on the hunt for some big fat lashes after all? First, a low-down on my eyes:
Facts about my eyes: Size: Medium Shape: Almond Color: Brown Type: Hooded (and I mean hooooded) I don't know about you, but sometimes mascara can make or break a makeup look. It can add that final touch that pulls a look together, or conversely you can end up with raccoon eyes and a makeup-wipe. Or better yet, you can end up in a public washroom trying to wipe away raccoon eyes with toilet paper and water.
Living such an experience leads me to bring you Mascara week! This week, I'll be posting my thoughts on 4 mascaras - a sneak peak below. Will I end up with raccoon eyes? Join me this week, on my mascara adventures to find out! I don't know about you, but sometimes my skin needs the equivalent of a cup of coffee to start off the day. And well, this foundation claims to do just that (in the color "natural beige")! Who's skin doesn't need a little pick me up every so often?
Facts about my skin: Skin tone: Olive tone Skin type: Oily and acne prone Problems: Occasional breakouts on the chin and cheeks, acne scars, large pores in the t-zone, an oily t-zone, and the odd wrinkle. Summer is finally here -and we are expecting a full week of sunshine! Just in time, I will share with you my top 10 summer essentials! Summer I think is the time to incorporate bright colors into your makeup look. So you'll see that I've picked up some fun summer colors for my top 5 summer essentials. Wait - I told you 10 summer essentials. You're in luck today because in addition to my top 5 picks, another great blogger, Franziska from Beauty on the inside and out will be sharing her top 5 summer essentials! If you have read any beauty blog or watched a YouTube video from US beauty gurus, you have heard of Sigma Brushes. They are said to be an affordable alternative for higher end brushes. I love high-end brushes just like the next girl - but since they usually start around the $30 price range for a blending brush but I was looking for a more affordable alternative to add to my collection. I put Sigma brushes to the test now that they are finally available in Canada!
You can find Sigma brushes in Canada (with free shipping) at ObsessedLook.com. Disclaimer: Two of the brushes listed below were sent to me for review. I have identified them with a "*". See my full disclaimer here. Makeup brushes are a dime a dozen, but finding good quality affordable brushes is another story! Let me introduce you to Real Techniques brushes. Here's a quick history on Real Techniques they are two makeup artist sisters from the UK who are now YouTube beauty gurus. Since then they have delved into the makeup brush world and now have their own line. Check out more about them here.
Real Techniques brushes can be found online, I was fortunate enough to find mine at Winners (I've seen many of their collections there). Now, on to the ones I've tested out! SMASHBOX is a great make-up line over-all - at least from the items that I've tried so far. I picked up this kit to try out a few of their best sellers and well - let's face it they're all in mini bottles! I love me some minis!
Here's what the kit contains ($22 CDN): - 0.25 oz Photo Finish Foundation Primer - 0.02 oz Photo Finish Lid Primer - 0.03 oz Limitless Eye Liner in Onyx - 0.14 oz Full Exposure Mascara in Jet Black - 0.14 oz Lip Enhancing Gloss in Illume Face sponges are all the rage for foundation application. There are many options out and I opted to try out the natural option from Quo - a natural sea sponge for a whopping $4!
Facts about my skin: Skin tone: Olive tone Skin type: Oily and acne prone Problems: acne scars, large pores in the t-zone, an oily t-zone, and the odd wrinkle. Lately, I've been obsessed with brows - perhaps I've been spending too much time on online on instagram admiring perfectly drawn and groomed brows. It's really a talent I think - usually mine look like sisters and not twins.
Amidst a shopping trip at Sephora where they were giving away complimentary Benefit goodies with the purchase of two Benefit products I decided to give this a Speed Brow a whirl - well perhaps not this particular product *sheepish smile* I thought I had picked up "Gimme Brow" but I instead picked up "Speed Brow". That's what I get for going shopping in a rush on my lunch break! In any event, I decided to give it a whirl. About my eyes/brows: Brow color: black/brown Eye shape: almond (hooded) Brow hair thickness: average, sometimes unruly |
